I choose the following pictures:
- 3: «Volunteering: “Working in an American soup kitchen”
- 5: “Campaigning/raising awareness: Leonardo DiCaprio on climate change”
I choose number 5 because it’s important to raise awareness. The humankind has for so long tried to ignore the greatest challenge of our existence on this planet. Climate change which has been surreal to many is about to become reality. Accelerated climate change is here now. We know that droughts are intensifying, our oceans are warming, methane plumes are rising from beneath the ocean floor. We are seeing extreme weather events, increased temperatures, and the West Antarctic and Greenland ice-sheets melting at unprecedented rates, decades ahead of scientific predicaments. The Earth as we know it is becoming an entirely different place.
As a Norwegian, living in the North, the snow has become a part of me. I don’t want to lose a part of me. Last year the snow already came in October. This year though, not so lucky. The arrival of the snow is yet to come. I don’t want what’s happening today to be our tomorrow land. There are several issues with the temperature rising. Not only does it affect the north, but also everyone else, especially the people who live close to the water. The water will rise as a result of the ice melting. This is just one of the numerous of problems that will occur. The battle of climate change is yet to win, and there are so many who are trying to cover up the fact that this is a huge problem. Therefore, it is significant to make people aware. Spokesmen such as Leonardo DiCaprio are the Samaritans that are about to save the Earth and the people in it.
In order for all of this to happen, we must all make an effort. A great example is people who are volunteering to work in an American soup kitchen, as we can see in picture 3. That’s exactly the human beings that this earth desires when facing climate change. These two pictures are more connected than they may seem like.

The situation in the US has changed to a different state. Though it’s not necessarily for the greater good. People are divided on wheater or not Snowden was a good citizen. Some argue he was doing the right thing when he told the world about what NSA was doing. Others are on the opposite side.
